A seal whose life was saved after a flying ring became embedded in her neck has been released back into the wild by her rescuers - but she’s not the first seal to suffer traumatic injuries from the popular toy. <br /><br />The adult female grey seal - named Ghost Bug - was rescued by Friends of Horsey Seals at the start of April, and taken to the RSPCA’s East Winch Wildlife Centre for urgent medical care. She had a white flying ring deeply embedded in her neck, leaving the centre’s vet battled to remove the plastic toy - which had caused a severe wound that had become infected.<br /><br />Video: RSPCA/Supplied

Adorable footage shows a 6ft-tall baby giraffe struggling to get to his feet after being born. Proud mum Arusha gave birth to the baby boy, named Mtembei, at West Midlands Safari Park.<br />Keepers set up a CCTV to monitor pregnant Arusha and she went into labour in the early hours of last Wednesday. Supermarket staff have put up barriers and cordoned off eight parking spaces - to protect a seagull. The gull is sitting on eggs in a nest it built at the base of a tree in the Morrisons car park in Liskeard, Cornwall. She is now surrounded by barriers and staff have cordoned off eight car parking spaces to protect it.
